Due to overrunning engineering works on the Seaford branch, this train bound for Newhaven couldn't reach its destination. Somehow it slipped through the net and miscommunication led to the train being sent down from Acton regardless. it had nowhere to go when it reached Lewes, so it was sent down to Hampden Park where the loco ran around its train (going into Eastbourne l/e to do so) and then h...

a late acquaintance of mine Rob, used to drive 37's and loved them but i never saw the lure, until you get to hear one approaching from a distance. The iconic burble is a sound to behold, only to be bettered for me by the Westerns powering away with a full rake of coaches.
